Ballard Food Bank (BFB) - BFB’s mission is to bring food and hope to its neighbors - because there can be enough for everyone. BFB provides access to nutritious food through grocery-style food bank, no-cost café, home delivery, and Weekend Food for Kids program. BFB hosts a Community Resource Hub, where partners offer services like housing, medical care, veterans’ benefits, financial assistance program to prevent homelessness through eviction prevention, utility assistance, identification vouchers, and a mail program. https://www.ballardfoodbank.org
Doctors Without Borders - Doctors Without Borders provides independent, impartial medical humanitarian assistance to the people who need it most by caring for people affected by conflict, disease outbreaks, natural and human-made disasters, and exclusion from health care in more than seventy countries. Their teams respond to, and adapt to provide the highest quality medical care in the world’s most challenging contexts. https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org
Equal Justice Initiative (EJI) - EJI is committed to changing the narrative about race in America and to ending mass incarceration and excessive punishment in the US. They challenge racial and economic injustice and protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society. EJI provides legal representation to those illegally convicted, unfairly sentenced, or abused in jails and provides re-entry assistance to the formerly incarcerated. https://eji.org
FareStart - FareStart focuses on job training and employment. Their mission is to transform lives, disrupt poverty and nourish communities through food, life skills and job training. They run food-based businesses that serve as classrooms for students to learn on-the-job skills that prepare them for careers while nourishing the community and sustainably funding the organization. The end goal is personal stability and economic mobility to overcome barriers to employment. https://www.farestart.org
Pike Market Senior Center (PMSC) - In downtown Seattle, PMSC the Pike strives to make each day better and safer for older adults by providing services, activities, and support to promote healthier, more self-sufficient and fulfilling lives. PMSC responds to this population of homeless seniors by offering free meals, healthy activities, and access to skilled social workers to assist with shelter and housing, medical care, and assistance programs like social security and food stamps. https://www.pmsc-fb.org
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA) - As the emergency and refugee program of the PCUSA, PDA enables congregations and mission partners to witness to the healing love of Christ through caring for communities adversely affected by crisis and catastrophic event. Working with faith-based responders and other organizations active in the response, PDA focuses on the long term recovery of disaster impacted communities. https://pda.pcusa.org
Queen Anne Helpline - Queen Anne Helpline helps prevent homelessness through financial assistance and improves access to foundational resources like healthy food, dignified clothing, hygiene supplies, bus vouchers. Financial services, such as one-time payments for rent or utilities, are for residents of specified local zip codes. https://www.queenannehelpline.org/
Tiny Houses - Tiny Houses is a program of the Puget Sound Low Income Housing Institute as a response to the homelessness crisis and as a replacement for tents and RV’s. Tiny houses offer tremendous benefits – they are safe, weatherproof and lockable – and the program allows participants to reclaim their dignity and get on a path to permanent housing, employment and connection to supportive services. https://www.lihihousing.org/.
Treehouse - Treehouse creates opportunities for young people in foster care to thrive. They believe and invest in young people throughout their childhood, education and transition to young adulthood by partnering with them and their communities to transform the systems holding them back. https://www.treehouseforkids.org
United Indians of All Tribes Foundation (UIATF) - The mission of UIATF, headquartered at Daybreak Star, is to provide educational, cultural and social services that reconnect Indigenous people in the Puget Sound region to their heritage by strengthening their sense of belonging and significance. https://unitedindians.org/
World Relief - World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization who boldly engages the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. World Central Kitchen (WCK) - Applying their model of quick action, leveraging local resources, and adapting in real time, WCK is first to the frontlines, providing fresh meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, and emergency kitchens, WCK serves good food providing not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis. https://wck.org
Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) - Through advocacy and programs in mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitation, WWP strives to improve the lives of wounded service members and their families by ensuring that when those who serve come home, they’re afforded every opportunity to be as successful as a civilian as they were in the military. https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/mission
Young Life Capernaum - Young Life Capernaum is a ministry that is dedicated to giving teens and young adults with disabilities a place to belong, a chance to be valued, and an opportunity to engage in meaningful friendships.
